Narrative Analysis
Narrative analysis aims to identify the kinds of stories told about the researched phenomenon and the kinds of story representing the phenomenon in culture and society. Narrative analysis may focus, for example, on text, media text, picture, film, music and an environment, which act as a story or have a story-like structure. You will need to know narrative theory to enable you to categorise the phenomenon in terms of structure, concepts, terms and points of views. If you use narrative analysis, your research will produce generalisations of thinking, actions, meanings and attitudes related to the phenomenon. There exist several variations in narrative analysis; for example, research which analyzes and theorises about narrative structures is called narratology.
