Case Study

A case study enables you to gain an in-depth understanding of a certain object or a defined group of objects. The case or cases under research can be either single or multiple, similar or diverse. Your case study should focus on a single case with the aim of producing detailed and intensive information on the chosen case. The core feature of your case study is a narrow focus, which leads you to gain a deep understanding of the phenomenon, which enables you to make a specific interpretation of the phenomenon in a particular context.

Your case study should also aim to explore the dynamics, processes and structures of the phenomenon in a manner that the results of the research are valid in broader socio-cultural contexts. Thus, the results of a case study may include some generalisations relating to the phenomenon. As a research strategy, the case study has an unrestricted framework, which enables you to use any of the choice of suitable methods of analysis.
