Experimental research enables you to explore the influence and interaction of phenomena in a controlled environment or situation you have created for the research. Consequently, through equally controlled and systematic observation, your research will produce highly reliable results. Your research design can be either as an experiment or a quasi-experiment.

Experiment design:

You organise the experiment / test situation,  so you can observe the effects and causality of the phenomena by controlling all factors related to them, and by randomly allocating the participants or subjects to a control group and experiment groups.

Quasi-experiment design:

In the design of your quasi-experiment you do NOT include the random allocation to either the control or experiment groups.

There are, however, variations of both the research experiment and the quasi-experiment designs, for which both qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis methods are suitable. Any form of statistical testing requires quantitative analysis.
