A prerequisite for reliable, ethically acceptable and credible results of a scientific study is that research is conducted in accordance with good scientific practice.

One goal of your university studies is that you adopt the principles of good scientific practice. A concrete form of this is that you refer appropriately to sources you have used.

Student as a Member of the University Community

As a student you must

  • be aware of your role as a responsible and honest member of the University community
  • treat you fellow students matter-of-factly and respectfully
  • take responsibility for your learning and participate actively in teaching and instruction
  • behave properly and follow the generally agreed principles of the science community and respect the teaching and research work of teachers
  • refrain from deceit

Copyright

You will get familiar with copyright at the latest when completing your thesis, since the University needs your permission to publish the thesis online.

In general, copyright protects and promotes intellectual creation in its different forms. By recognizing the right of individuals to control the use of their work, society encourages creativity and promotes the production and distribution of immaterial products as well as investment and trade in them. The protection of cultural commodities and their accessibility underpins national culture and social development (Source: MEC).
