E-Books for the iPad

Downloading e-books from Ebook Central

  • Install BlueFire Reader on the iPad:
  1. Go to the App Store on your iPad (you need an Apple ID).
  2. Search for “BlueFire Reader“.
  3. Download it to your iPad.
  • Find the e-book you want to download via JYKDOK (remote access, if you are outside the Jyväskylä University's network).
  • Click the “Full download“ button.
  • Open with BlueFireReader.

Downloading e-books from Ebsco eBook Collection



Install BlueFire Reader on the iPad:
  1. Go to the App Store on your iPad (you need an Apple ID).
  2. Search for “BlueFire Reader“.
  3. Download it to your iPad.
  • Find the e-book you want to download via JYKDOK (remote access if you are outside the Jyväskylä University's network).
  • Sign in using your EBSCOhost account or create an account if you are a new user.



    • Find the book you want to download.
    • Click the “Download (Offline) button.
    • Open with BlueFireReader.


Downloading e-books from Dawsonera

  • Install BlueFire Reader on the iPad:
    1. Go to the App Store on your iPad (you need an Apple ID).
    2. Search for “BlueFire Reader".
    3. Download it to your iPad.
  • Find the e-book you want to download via JYKDOK and sign in with your JYU username and password:

     
  • Find the book you want to download.
  • To download an e-book click on the download icon.



  • Select the length of download period required.
  • Select "For iPhone & iPad users click here to download".


  • Open with BlueFireReader.

    Downloading e-books from Ellibs

    • Register for an Adobe ID via www.adobe.com
    • Install BlueFire Reader on the iPad:
      • Go to the App Store on your iPad (you need an Apple ID).
      • Search for "BlueFire Reader"
      • Download it to your iPad
    • Find the book you want to download via JYKDOK (remote access if you are outside the Jyväskylä University's network).
    • Create separate (free) account (Log in > Create an account).

    • Click the “Download"button and open with BlueFire Reader.
