Downloading e-books from ebrary

  • You can download books from the ebrary collection to your own device for 7-14 days. You can also save individual pages from the books to your own device in PDF format within the limit of the print quotas (max. 60 pages).
  • You may download up to 10 entire documents at a time.
  • install BlueFire Reader on the iPad:
  1. Go to the App Store on your iPad (you need an Apple ID).
  2. Search for “BlueFire Reader“.
  3. Download it to your iPad.
  • Go to Ebrary via JYKDOK (remote access), if you are outside the Jyväskylä University's network).
  • Sign in using your ebrary account or create an account if you are a new user.
  • Find the book you want to download.
  • Click the “Download“ button.
  • Select option to “Download the entire document“, Click OK.

Downloading e-books from Ebsco eBook Collection


  • You can download books from the Ebsco collection to your own device for 1-7 days. You can also save individual pages from the books to your own device in PDF format within the limit of the print quotas.
  • Register for an Adobe ID via www.adobe.com.
Install BlueFire Reader on the iPad:
  1. Go to the App Store on your iPad.
  2. Search for “BlueFire Reader“.
  3. Download it to your iPad.
  • Go to the Ebsco eBook collection via JYKDOK (remote access if you are outside the Jyväskylä University's network).
  • Sign in using your EBSCOhost account or create an account if you are a new user.



    • Find the book you want to download.
    • Click the “Download (Offline) button.
    • Open the downloaded book online the first time. After that it can be read offline.


Downloading e-books from Dawsonera

  • You can download books from the Dawsonera collection to your own device for 1-3 days.
  • You can also save individual pages from the books to your own device in PDF format within the limit of the print quotas. Majority of publishers allow you to copy at least 10 % of the ebook, however you may notice that other publishers allow you to copy more.
  • Install Adobe Reader on the iPad:
    1. Go to the App Store on your iPad.
    2. Search for “Adobe Reader“.
    3. Download it to your iPad.
  • Go to Dawsonera via JYKDOK and sign in with your JYU username and password:

     
  • Find the book you want to download.
  • To download an e-book click on the download icon.



  • Select the length of download period required.
  • Select "For iPhone & iPad users click here to download".


  • Open with Adobe Reader.
  • Open the downloaded book online the first time. After that it can be read offline.
